The Ninth Azores and Back Yacht Race 2007

Commodores Charity Sweep Estimated Elapsed Time First Leg of the AZAB 2007 Race

Thank you for supporting the sweep, which was organised by the Club Commodore, Nick Barwell.

We are pleased to announce the prize-winners as follows:
1st P Brant 42 minutes - £100.00
2nd Harry Robinson 61 minutes - £50.00
3rd J Harris 71 minutes - £25.00

£236 raised for the Commodores Charities: Cornwall Hospice Care, and Helford River Childrens Sailing Trust.

We are delighted to report that all the competitors have returned safe and well and from the feedback received they have thoroughly enjoyed the race.

The race started on 2nd June in Falmouth with a low pressure system that followed the fleet all the way down to the Azores and tracked back up the rhumb line on the return leg.

It did not dampen the competitors spirits.

SHOCKWAVE---Hi All
Thanks for a great race, and hospitality while at Falmouth. We really enjoyed the race and the sailing experience & we look forward to seeing you at the prize giving at Southampton.
Kind regards
Charles

Charles has provided links to his album of photos taken during the race, you can find these in the links page.

KATISHA---
James and John from Katisha managed to raise £3250 for the Teenage Cancer Trust - there is still some to be collected in, hopefully the total will approach £4000. Thank you to everyone who contributed.
